Complaint filed against | Mumbai airport terminal 2 |
- Text of Complaint by Virendra Singh
Dear Authorities,
I am writing to formally report a fraudulent auto fare charge that occurred on 18th February 2025 at Mumbai Airport (Terminal 1).
I arrived from Chennai via Akasa Airlines and checked out at approximately 4:15 PM. I proceeded to the auto stand, where my details—name, auto number, and destination (Gundavali Metro Station)—were recorded in the register around 4:25 PM.
The assigned auto driver, Chandan Kumar (as per payment receipt, mobile: 9128992330), refused to use the meter, claiming that payments were now online and meters were not used for airport rides. Upon reaching my destination (approximately 3 km), he demanded ₹360, justifying it by showing cab fares in the Uber app. When I questioned this, he insisted that it was a new rule. When I pointed out that I had traveled by auto, not a cab, he said I should pay the Uber Auto fare, which was ₹214 in the app.
Due to time constraints, I reluctantly paid ₹214, but later learned from another auto driver that no such rule exists, confirming this was a fraudulent practice.
I have attached my boarding pass and payment receipt as proof. Additionally, my entry in the auto register (second or third last line on the page) can be verified.
I request an investigation into this malpractice and necessary action against the driver and any others involved to prevent further exploitation of passengers.
Looking forward to your prompt response.
