- Text of Complaint by Rajiv Bhatt
My name is Rajiv Bhatt. Me and my spouse flew from Mumbai Airport to Munich on February 17 2025. Flight # LH767 departing at 1:35 pm.
When we checked in the baggage the counter agent made us remove about 1.5 kg from three of the four bags which we did. We had booked Pranam India services and the guide assigned to us warned us about this Lufthansa employee. The employee after checking bags asked us if we want to check in any carryon bags and we said no we have medicine, power banks ets and do not want to remove right now. He than stepped off his place and came close to us and asked why do we have 4 carry on bags to which we said we are allowed two carry on bags each in business class. Than he questioned about our backpack and we said we are allowed one personal item each and backpacks have computers.
He was annoyed and said You can Only have computers nothing else in backpak. we just walked away. He called us on Lufthansa issued phone 50 minutes before boarding that our Passports needs to be rechecked and we should head straight to gate counter and NOT stand in boarding line. When we reached gate his buddy ( a heavy set guy asked us to go to counter. There they pretended to check our passport and said we need to check your bags we asked why and the they said the check is counter agent has put note in our reservation that we are doing something wrong. They made us wait 15 minutes pretending to find weighing scale. In the mean time Pranam India guide talked to lady at the counter in local language and said why are these people being stopped? She pointed to the heavy set guy and said because he says so. We stayed firm and just waited. Now the gate of the plane was getting ready to close and the situation was attracting a lot of attention from others at the Airport.
We refused to offer any money as there was nothing wrong that we were doing. So finally they said “just go its resolved” I am attaching the phone line number that was used to call us. Employee name can be verified by calling that number or from airline.
Please investigate and take appropriate action for the employees involved that harassed us in name of checking US passport and tried to extort money.
The employee who checked us in at check in counters used official company issued phone number +91 9920789190 to set up extortion scheme. Pranam India guide who witnessed all this drama told me that this employee is “HARAMI”
