Sir,
Subject:- Complaint of unnecessary harrasment during x-ray scanning of check-in bag by CRPF/ Scanning officer at domestic terminal 2.
I, Hardikkumar Prajapati of Indian Passport, native of Kalol Distt Gandhinagar, arrived in India at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport Mumbai, on 9/02/2023 at 5.10 AM through flight No. TK 720 Turkish Airlines from Canada with my wife. I went to Canada under students visa and at present having valid work permit at Canada. I have returned India now, first time to see my parents and relatives after a long period of about 5 years. There was my connecting domestic flights of Indigo Airlines No 6E 6431 from Mumbai to Ahmedabad at 13.10 Hrs. I was not carrying any prohibited/ banned nor restricted items in my luggage during travel. Therefore, neither by security authorities at Toronto, Canada nor by Customs at Mumbai International Airport raised any doubt of having any objectionale items in my luggage. However, unfortunately, at domestic airport at Mumbai, Terminal No. 2, the CRPF/ x-ray staff of scanning of luggage, has not cleared my one bag though there was reasonable time of about three hrs much before time of take off of said flight for Ahmedabad. Therefore, I have to fly by left said one bag at Mumbai airport, for non clearance by luggage x-ray staff, without any reason or my fault. Thus, I was unnecessary harrassed by Check-in / x-ray/ CRPF staff at Mumbai domestic airport, without any mine fault, and for the reasons best known to them. Actually, they would have opened my said bag in my physical presence at Mumbai airport, if they were not able identify, any so called doubtful item in the bag, during scanning. I couldn’t understand for keeping my said genuine luggage in abayance for hours together in scanning , as a result said bag cannot be uploaded in my flight. Thus, it is nothing but gross harrasment of genuine international pesengers like me by luggage Scanning/CRPF staff at Mumbai domestic airport. Lastly, Mumbai International Airport Ltd have themselves cleared said bag Serial No. 13252705 on 09/02/2023 after departure of my flight, therefore I have received said bag on next day i.e. on 10/2/2023, through Indigo Airlines, in locked condition but in damaged condition i.e having big vertical cut of about 12 inches in corner side of bag. On verification of items kept in bag, It is noticed that some dry fruits, chocolates , new clothes etc, are missing.
In the circumstances, I would like to take necessary actions against defaulting personel and reimburse the financial loss occurred to me due to damage of a bag Rs. 4000/- and missing items I.e. dry fruits, chocolates and new clothes etc of Rs.3000/- (total Rs.7000/- approx, )at the earliest.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully ,
