The indigo flight scheduled to depart for Chennai at 9.45 pm got delayed to 10.22pm, then to 11.30, and later to 11.45p.m on Nov 28th.
The passengers were asked to wait.. There were no seats vacant.. Area was crowded with people .. Many were sitting on steps.. Blocking way for movement.. My senior citizens father had to stand for
Almost 1hr at the gate for boarding.. We were called near the gate for boarding around 10.45 and for almost an hour we’re were not lead to the bus for the flight.
When used the women’s wash room, which was so old that of the 4, only two were functional.. And in that one was not clean.. Unflushed… So people were forced to use only 1 and were waiting at the queue.. There was water spilled all over.. While waiting I noticed the walls has a Crack and the granite tile were broken and would fall anytime.
There was no issue towel for cleaning the hands.. Only the full power hand dryer was working..
Overall had a very bad experience waiting at the Mumbai airport terminal 1.Being one of the busiest airport, in a metro city of Mumbai the airport is in far low standard.. I have been to Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata airports.. There are much better, cleaner, wider, brighter and very neat and of good standard..
Even cities like Nagpur, Jaipur, Pune, Hyderabad, kochi have well maintained airports.. I felt very bad and sad that, we pay so much for our airytravel and still we get such poor service from airlines and airport authorities.. Basic necessity of washroon is bad.. One lady was cleaning the temporary wash area and did not have any other support staff to her assistance.
