Hello,
I am Dr. Shiv Shah. I recently travelled from the US to Mumbai (on March 29) and then back to the US (On April 19). ( Attached pictures of bag tag, tickets, airlines email of loss of bag)
This email is about filing a Property Irregularity report (PIR) at Terminal 2 of Mumbai international airport. (Baggage tag – 0016742392)
I was travelling from the US to Mumbai on March 29. I reached Mumbai on the midnight of March 30, where I couldn’t find my checked bag. I tried contacting the airport staff but they didn’t help me file a property irregularity report. My airlines cant proceed with finding my bag without the property irregularity report issued by Mumbai airport. So it’s my sincere request to please file the report.
Following are the details of my trip-
Flight 1 UA2446 March 29 Minneapolis to Newark
Flight 2 LH413 March 29 Newark to Munich
Flight 3 LH766 March 30 Munich to Mumbai
On reaching Mumbai I couldn’t find the checked bag on the belt. I tried to contact the airport desk at Mumbai airport but no one was willing to help / were not able to assist me to file a property irregularity report. They did not initiate any paperwork or file a missing baggage report. They asked me to file a report with Lufthansa online, I told them that I will need a PIR report first. I waited at the airport for 45 minutes, but then I had to leave the airport, since this trip to Mumbai was an emergency( my grandfather had died). So in frustration and due to a severely exhausting trip,and the family emergency, I had to leave the airport without any PIR paperwork. For the next 15 days, I was travelling in rural/ peripheral areas of India without a stable internet, therefore I couldn’t contact the airport. I did try to call the airport helpline, which was not helpful at all. All this time, there was no communication or updates on my missing bag. I haven’t received the whereabouts of my bag till this date. ( it has been more than 1 month)
My airlines cant proceed with finding my bag if I don’t have a property irregularity report. So please help me file it.
