As a frequent traveler who has flown with various airlines and passed through numerous airports worldwide, I have generally experienced normal basic service. However, the events of August 31st at around 4:30 pm, during the initial security check at Terminal 2, left me feeling both embarrassed and deeply disappointed.
I was carrying a small container of talcum powder, a common item that I have routinely traveled with across different countries and airports, without ever encountering any issues. However, when the security officer stopped me, I sought clarification as to why this item was suddenly deemed problematic. Instead of receiving a courteous and professional response, I was met with rude, dismissive, and unhelpful remarks. The officer’s attitude not only lacked the basic politeness expected in such situations but also showed an unwillingness to provide a proper explanation for the issue at hand. And this is the general perception of most of the travelers traveling through many airports in India particularly in Mumbai.
As a senior citizen, I found this treatment particularly upsetting. It is understandable that security protocols can vary, but what was truly disheartening was the lack of professionalism and respect shown by the personnel. The officer’s slurry and condescending tone further added to my frustration.
I kindly request that you review this matter, as I believe such behavior reflects poorly on the otherwise high standards of service expected at this terminal. It is important that security officers carry out their duties with professionalism, patience, and respect, ensuring that travelers are treated with dignity, regardless of the situation.
Regards.
