Hi,

on 19th October, I had landed from Nairobi on flight KQ202. Upon arrival, there were three staff members checking the yellow fever vaccination cards and mine was kept aside along with 4-5 other people’s. We were individually called to the office then to discuss the issue. Once I was called, the main officer started asking me about the vaccine centre where I got the vaccine from. However, there was a very young member of staff who kept on interrupting us and saying things like “ye centre nahi hain”, “aapne vaccine liya hain bhi ya nahin”. They suggested me a 6 day quarantine against which I asked the following questions: Why was I not stopped from leaving the country? If the International Health & Vaccine Clinic is suspicious, why is it not blacklisted or taken an action upon yet? None of the three men had an answer to these questions. When I started calling the Kenyan embassy and a member of the Indian Police Services for help, the young guy started creating a scene and told me “hum chahte to aapko abhi quarantine mein bhej sakte hain”. This experience has left me embarrassed of the authorities who can’t even train their people before getting into the real job. Please ensure that such members are either not sent on job without proper development or please take formal accountability of this on the immigrations team part.
