The repairs will involve re-carpeting and overlay work of the runway intersection.
This runway work is done ever seven years. The last time the work was done in 2011-2012.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) stated that the Mumbai airport could be shut for six hours on Tuesdays, Thursday, and Saturdays, from 11 am to 5 pm.
Flights on these days and on the specified time may be cancelled until the work is completed.
The NOTAM (a notice filed to intimate pilots about the changes) is yet to be issued.
The unfortunate fallout of the Mumbai airport repairs in 2019 is that it could cause certain inconvenience to the passengers.
There may be delays in flight timings.
Fliers who are scheduled to fly to and from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Mumbai, between February 16 and April 3, 2019, will probably face delays.
