Child security searched without parent present

I was flying with my daughters aged 13 and 10. They were searched individually without my presence behind a curtain. When I followed behind to accompany them. I was asked to get out by the security staff. I explained my child is a minor and I wanted to be present. The lady didn’t listen and insisted I left. I fully respect your rules as I myself work at Heathrow Airport. However, a minor has to have a parent present. This should apply everywhere.
