My name is Ashish J. Mehta, I had booked tickets from easemytrip site for travelling to Jammu from Mumbai, below is the details of my booking.

The flight no AI-864 Dated: 14.07.2023 from Mumbai to Delhi scheduled departure was 7:00 AM got delayed due to some technical fault of the Airplane, this flight was supposed to reach Delhi by 9:15 AM but it reached Delhi after 12:20 PM.

I was on a connecting flight from Delhi Airport to Jammu via Air India flight no AI-821 departing from Delhi at 10:45 AM on 14.07.2023. The flight booking was cancelled by Air India at 9:27 AM without any type of information to me and rescheduled my flight to next day that is on 15.07.2023 departing at 11:00 AM (I came to know this after reaching Delhi airport at around 12:20 PM on 14.07.2023)

Let me inform you about my trip details in short. This trip was planned to visit Shri Mata Vaishnav Devi Darshan only and all bookings were done online.

1. 14.07.2023 – Mumbai to Jammu travelling by Air India Flight

2. Stay at The White Hotel on 14.07.2023.

3. Helicopter Booking for onward journey from Katra to Sanjhicchat on 15.07.2023 at 8:50 AM (Reporting Time – 7:50 AM)

4. Helicopter Booking for return journey from Sanjhichhat on 15.07.2023 at 12:05 Pm (Reporting time – 11:05 AM)

5. Rest and leisure time at hotel for rest of the day on 15.07.2023

6. Return flights on 16.07.2023 via Vistara airline from Jammu to Delhi departing Jammu at 1:55 PM

Now AIR INDIA had offered me ONLY 2 OPTIONS either to board flights on 15.07.2023 at 11:00 am reaching Jammu at 12:30 PM approx. or

Refund of Full amount of Rs. 3200/- per person for Delhi to Jammu Sector Flight Booking only.

I had explained my situation to them that it was not possible for me to catch flights on the next day because I was having a helicopter booking the next day wherein the reporting time was 7:50 AM and needed to travel the same day to reach Jammu. I even checked online and asked them to accommodate me with Indigo Airline which was having a flight at 5:30 PM the same day. But they said that they do not have a tie up with them and denied me for the same. I tried my level best to convince your airport officers but they were saying that they do not have the authority to do anything in this regard and that there is no point in arguing or convincing them.

I was HELPLESS as I was travelling with 2 young kids aged 7 years and 14 years.

Now I was left with NO OPTION but only to cancel and take a refund from AIR INDIA.

I asked your officer to please book my tickets with Indigo and I will pay directly for that, they denied me that it’s not under their preview of work as they do not have tie ups with INDIGO and I must go to the reservation desk and book it myself. This was the worst ever customer service experience by me from any corporate name.

I instantly had gone to the second-floor booking office taking my family with me running here and there asking for the reservation counter which I finally found after half an hour of searching.

I Booked my 4 tickets from INDIGO Airlines @ Rs. 50,484/- for flights departing at 5:30 PM from Terminal 1 of Delhi.

Now I must take a cab from Terminal 3 Delhi to Terminal 1 with my luggage and 2 kids. Running for cabs here and there.

Finally, we reached Terminal 1 airport and boarded our flights to Jammu. Reaching Hotel at 10:30 PM.

NOW my question is WHAT was our fault for such an agonizing journey?

Paying Rs. 50494/- against a refund of Rs. 12,800/- (Still I did not receive any communication from EaseMyTrip.com regarding cancellation and its amount) Cancellation fees of EaseMyTrip.com is Rs. 1200/- for 4 pax.

Give me one reason why I should pay this extra money from my pocket.

AIR INDIA a TATA GROUP company with such standard of customer service was NOT at all expected.
