On August 13th, I had a distressing encounter at the Mumbai Airport Terminal 1 lounge.
As a frequent traveler, I was taken aback by the unacceptable behavior of the lounge staff. When I requested a food parcel, I was informed that take-away was not available. However, I had previously availed of this service. A staff member then mentioned a shortage of packing boxes and offered to provide a parcel after 4 pm, which was not feasible for me as my flight was at 2:10 pm. When I requested a refund, the staff refused and even mocked me, suggesting I eat inside the lounge instead.
I came out from the lounge near my wife who was waiting for me. After listening to me, my wife then used her card to enter the lounge, and we began having lunch together.
However, a staff member approached us, questioning our payment, and despite my explanation, I was forced to pay again.
This embarrassing situation unfolded in front of several passengers.
I later discovered that I had been charged twice, as evident from the receipts in my email.
My question is, why did the staff humiliate us without understanding the facts, and why did they disregard our self-respect and sensibility?
