Landed at BOM
Flight AI180
Date: 15-November 2024
1. No Wheelchair:
Flight reached gate 30 mins late. Limited number of wheelchairs and no one to push them. My mother, a senior citizen 81 who was extremely dizzy was forced to walk due to extended wait time. I am 55 year old with severe Achilles tendinitis in both ankles and was also forced to walk in a CAM boot. Luckily an electric passenger cart picked us when we were halfway to the immigration areup along with my 83 year old father and dropped us near immigration counter.
2. Understaffed immigration counters: my senior citizen parents waited for 45 minutes in immigration. I waited for more than one hour in the evisa line. I spoke to one of the immigration officers and requested additional staff. He said I needed to talk to a supervisor who was only available after I completed immigration!!
Since 2010 the experience at BOM had improved significantly till 2022. Chatrapati Shivaji Airport was amongst the better places in the world from perspective of time from aircraft arrival at gate to passengers exiting the airport. However, the experience on 15-November 2024 reminded us of the bad old days.
Could you please explain to me what happened and what is being done to address this?
Thanks,
Anish
