Complaint filed against | Indigo and Mumbai Airport |
- Text of Complaint by RAZA AHMAD
I, Raza Ahmad, resident of Jugsalai, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand – 831006 holder of Passport No. L7377445 was to travel from Mumbai, India to Abu Dhabi, UAE by Flight No. 6E1401 of INDIGO Airlines from Mumbai Airport on 19/05/2024. The departure time of my flight was at 2205 Hrs. I approached the Indigo Airline counter well before the schedule time for verifying my documents and check-in-bags after which he boarding pass was handed over to me by the Airline Authority. After receiving my boarding pass, I went for my immigration check-up. After clearing my immigration checkup, I was getting ready to go to board the flight.
In the meantime, the Indigo Airlines authorities once again called me and asked that if I am carrying atleast 3000 Dirhams (70000/- INR) with me or not. As soon as I denied that I am not carrying that much amount of money with me as I am going to my elder brother at Abu Dhabi they did not let me board the flight whereas I kept on telling them that I have already been to Abu Dhabi 4 times previously and there is much more money in the account of my elder and younger brother than the amount they are talking of. But they did not listen to me and did not give enough the time to show that we have sufficient money in our account and cancelled my ticket. The last time that I returned from Abu Dhabi was on 20th December, 2023 and you can verify this by looking into my passport.
Now Sir, this is to state that my elder brother Mr. Danish Hussain (UAE Mob. No. – +971547571265) is working at Abu Dhabi and is currently residing there. The flight ticket me was taken by my brother for 704 Dirham (approx. Rs.15960) and visa was also taken by him. Now as my ticket is cancelled by the Indigo Airlines Authorities, I got stranded at Mumbai. I am suffering from physical harassment as well as mental & financial loss. I have been to Abu Dhabi four times in the past, but no such demand for 3000 dirhams (70,000/- INR) has ever been made at the airport and to my knowledge there is no such law that says one cannot go to Abu Dhabi without carrying less than a specific amount.
So Sir, I request that on the basis of my statements and documents, a serious investigation should be conducted into this problem and strict legal action should be taken against the guilty officers. I had already mailed to the nodal officer of Indigo Airlines but did not get any response from them yet.
Hope to get a positive response from you at the earliest.
With thanks & regards,
Raza Ahmad
