I flew on 02/01/2024 at 14:05 with Singapore Airlines from Manila to Mumbai via Singapore (SQ917 Manila – Mumbai). The luggage was lost in Changi Airport, I made the lost luggage report at Mumbai Airport (report id BOMSQ22492).
During report filing, Singapore Airlines staff tried to persuade me to lie about the value of the content of the luggage (declare 15,000 INR value instead of 35,000 INR), using false claims (customs does not allow more than 15,000 INR of value). My wife and I went to verify with Customs before signing the report, and assessed these were all lies.
We moved to Lucknow, as per our plan, and since Singapore Airlines does not operate there, the luggage was delivered on 04/01/2024 at Lucknow Airport by Air India. Missing from the luggage the most valuable item in it, a pair of Rayban sunglasses. Singapore Airlines denies reimbursement claiming that there was no change in weight in the luggage, even though a pair of sunglasses is 40 grams tops (……..).
Could you please ensure I get reimbursed? This is going to damage the reputation of Singapore Airlines and Mumbai Airport.
Thanks,
Gabriele
